Hello again!

To all the parents viewing this page, this area is the summary of my curriculum for the year, including the subjects we will be diving into and a class supply list for students will be located at the bottom of this page. Addtional supplies maybe purchased if you wish to do so as we move through different areas of instruction, I will send home letters to notify you. I cant wait to get started! Arts

- In this years art segment of class we will be touching the beginning bases of various art concepts and mediums: including drawing, painting and building. Clay art and more specific lessons will be reserved for our art specific faculty. I primarily incorporate art for fun!

Math

- Our math curriculum will consist of determining the differnce beteen even and odd numbers, place value and Beginning fracitons, graphing, multiplication, division and continuing to build our addition and subraction skills.

Science

- I have planned some very fun and interactive science experiments this year to integrate with our concepts! this year our science lessons will include plants and animal ecosystems and some other basic aspects of environmental science, our solar system, nutriton and basic bodily science and how we can keep ourselves fit and healthy.

Language Arts

-  This year our language arts lessons will be based on continuing to build our writing and spelling skills. We will be focusing our sentence structure, punctuation, spelling , use of nouns and verbs and finally putting all of these concepts together to craft our own narrative stories starting with creating word webs and idea mapping.

Social Studies

- In our Social Studies lessons we will be exploring different cultures around the world and their daily life and some basic reliogious beliefs. We will also being exploring hwo our enviroment can geography can dictate our way of life in this section.

Community Activism/ Emotional Inclusion

- This part of the curriculum is all about awareness both emotional and environmetnal. We will be learning how to get active in our communities and the benefits of volunteering our time and kindness, and the good it does for our environment and ourelves. Emotional growth and acknowledging the feelings of other and treating each other how we would like to be treated will also be paramount in additon to building our character and being upstanding citizens in all situations.

All parents can help in fostering active learning through reviewing homework with your children and I encourage reading at least 3 small books with them every week and reviewing homework together.
